HOW LASER WORK

 

When treating hair, the energy emitted by the high power diode laser is used to prevent the regrowth of the hair. To do this, the light has to penetrate several millimeters into the skin to reach the root of the hair. When it meets the melanin in the hair (brown color), the light is absorbed, i.e. it is converted into heat. The darker, thicker and denser the hair, the more heat is produced. This heat damages the cells responsible for hair regrowth within the hair and in the immediate area around the hair. This ensures a drastic reduction in hair in the treated area.
At the same time, it must be ensured that, despite the heat produced, no blisters or scars develop. That’s why all of Asclepion’s hair removal technologies include a powerful skin-cooling element, which always cools the most superficial layer of the skin immediately before the light pulse. It also makes the treatment more comfortable for the patient.

Thanks to its unique wavelength range, MeDioStar NeXT PRO allows deep and selective treatments on all skin types (I to VI), with comfort and safety in all areas. WHAT DIFFERENTIATES MEDIOSTAR NEXT LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT FROM OTHER LASERS

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO YOU NEED?

Hair grows in several phases (anagen, telogen, catagen) and a laser can only affect the currently active growing hair follicles (anagen). This is why several sessions are needed to kill hair in all phases of growth.

The actual number of sessions depends on various parameters, including the area of the body being treated, skin color, coarseness of hair, reason for hirsutism, and gender.

Average number of treatments:

Face: 6-10 treatments every 4-6 weeks.

Body: 4-6 treatments every 8-12 weeks.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL CONTRA INDICATIONS?

​

In other words, if you have any of these conditions or are taking any of the medicines listed, you CANNOT be treated:

• Pregnant

• Gold Therapy

• Light induced seizure

• Accutane (need to be off for 6 months)

• Anticoagulants

• History of skin cancer

• Suspicious pigmented lesions

• Lupus

• Herpes (pre-treat with an antiviral drug such as Valtrex… But, if active, cannot be treated until dormant again)

HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

​

• No waxing, tweezing, or electrolysis for 4 weeks prior.

• If you have fair skin (skin types I -III), no sun exposure for at least 4 weeks.

• If you have darker skin (types IV – VI), no sun for 3-5 days.

• No threading for 10 days

• No self-tanner for 14 days

• Shave the area being treated the same day or the night before

• No make-up, lotion or deodorant should be worn on the day of your treatment

• No topical Retin-A for 3-5 days

• No oral Retin-A for 3 weeks

• No Accutane for 6 months

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER TREATMENT

​

Following the treatment, a redness of the skin, strong sensations of warmth or wheals can occur. Overall, the side effects are similar to a light sun burn and disappear a few hours after the treatment. After a few hours, you may notice a darkening of the treated area and/or scab formation, which will vanish again after two to ten days. The hairs dissolve after between five days and two weeks, or fall out.

WHAT TO DO AFTER TREATMENT

​

There are several things you should keep in mind after you conduct your laser hair removal sessions. In fact, make sure to follow these strictly!

• Avoid sun exposure of the treated area

• Avoid perfumed products for 24 h after treatment

• Avoid vigorous exercises

• Apply cool compresses to red or swollen area

• Do not use hot showers, sauna, steam rooms

• Do not wear tight cloths witch can irritate skin

• Do not wear make up on treated area

• Always use the creams with high SPF(min30)

• Use soothing, cooling gel such as Aloe Vera to cool the area

• It will look and feel like a sunburn… treat it like one!

• Lastly, enjoy being HAIR-FREE!
